All Artists Need an Audience PDF Print E-mail

Art does not exist in a vacuum.  The artist needs an audience.  From a group gathered around a street musician, to a packed theatre, to gallery goers and art collectors; these are what the artist creates for.  Yes, there have been some artists that toiled away, their work never discovered until their deaths.  But these are really the exception to the rule.

MARN believes that one of the biggest resources we can bring to Milwaukee's artists is an understanding of how to connect with their audience and opportunities for those connections to happen.

We also believe this is a two way street and we need to help audiences discover local artists, and in some cases understand how to connect to them.

We have created a slate of programing to give you, the audience, these opportunities to expand your knowledge, and to expand your access to art and the local artists that create these works.  We urge you to get involved, come to our filmmaker review and give your input.  Participate in our staged reading so the playwrights and screenwriters can hear your reaction.  Come to our opening receptions and meet the artists.  Learn about how collecting art can be affordable.

Better yet support MARN on one of our parton levels and get exclusive behind-the-scenes studio tours and invitations to special meet the artist events.

Milwaukee has so much fantastic talent right in its own living room.  The biggest threat is apathy.  Please let's not loose this talent, I urge you to get engaged with your burgeoning arts community!
